Centrale Fies is a center for the creation and production of contemporary arts such as performing art, exhibits, site specifics, videos and every form of live entertainment. They asked me to draw a specific font display family for the 40° edition and last of their Festival “Drodesera”, a website and an artistic work for their
“The care of Centrale Fies’ image is not the result of formalized creativity and standardized processes, but a constant reaction, a re-elaboration and a continuous relaunch of the themes, experiences and transformations to which the structure is subject on a daily basis. For the 40 years of the festival in 2020, and therefore on the occasion of the edition entitled XL, we thought of a special project: a font that summarized the mood and aesthetics of a place.
Why Goth and Metal? Because one of the possible roles of culture and art is to restore expressive freedom to iconographic codes anchored to certain imaginaries that had engulfed them.
On this important anniversary, which effectively coincides with the explosion of the festival format as we have always known it, Centrale Fies collaborates with the artist and graphic designer Dogyorke to give life to a font inspired by the research and creation processes of the visual identity of the center conducted by Virginia Sommadossi. A font that can be downloaded and used by anyone, a sign that we hope will help expand other concepts, instances and open up the visual potential of one or many images.”

A PANDEMIC I-CHING ORACLE SERIES
This celebrationg moment for 40 years of Drodesera festival coincided with the very beginning of the Covid pandemic. My contribute as artist for the Festival, that was totally digital because of the lockdown, it was doing a video each week for 4 weeks before doing a chinese’s oracle ritual with I – CHING that confirmed my intuition on the images I produced. So each video was a sort of medition and a confirmation before the response. I made it totally using my intuition, my inner sensation and the result was amazing.
